I was in a computer lab, working on two computers next to each other. I needed to copy a few lines of code from one to the other. So I logged into my gmail, pasted the code into an email, sent the message to myself, logged out, moved to the other computer, logged back in, opened the message, copied the code, and logged out. It seemed like a lot of steps for a simple copy and paste between machines. I thought instead, perhaps if I could just paste this code into a textbox with no login required and an easily remembered url, I could save myself some time.
I decided to put this site together as a quick and simple way to paste information between computers when I'm not on my home computer and logged into my email.
clipping.us is a very simple way to paste snippets of text from one computer to another without any login information or registration.
Just type anything after clipping.us/ like clipping.us/tumblr, paste your snippet, hit save. Then access it from any other computer using the same url. Afterwards you can delete it, temporarily lock it to your IP, or edit it.
All text posted on the site is public and can be edited by anyone. Don't post any sensitive information. Try using a unique url to avoid confusion. Clipping.us will display a notice if a url is already in use.
